The following quotes about courage have a common theme running through them; they all intimate in some way that courage is not the absence of fear but rather the judgment that something else is more important. 1. Have Courage
One of the best quotes about courage is simply just that - have courage! The courageous heart is one that openly accepts and works with all of life’s situations, be they happy or sad. Every situation is a chance, a gift, because it brings us energy that we can use to transform our conditioned mind. It’s through that transformation that we will have true freedom.
2. Carry on
A fear of failure gives us that inevitable feeling of disappointment, despite all our efforts, nothing seems to go as planned and it causes us to doubt ourselves and wonder if it’s worth trying something again. “Why bother?” “I’m just not good enough” or “It didn’t pan out last time” become our excuses to not do anything to make the situation better. Take heart though, go forth, carry on, continue – it’s one of the most courageous acts you can do.

3. Scary Stuff
I remember reading this on Lululemon’s famous red poster and strive to live by it daily (or whenever I can)! It’s not always possible to do something that gets the heart racing each day but we can certainly try. There can be no courage unless you’re scared and only in fear’s embrace is courage born.
4. Put Your Whole Self in
The ancient Chinese teacher and politician Confucius reminds me to give as much as I can, to bare my soul wherever I go in the world. There is only one you, so be proud of who you are! Know that you have been given the gift of life and you have much to give. Be willing to take risks, to fall down, get back up and begin again. Make beauty wherever you go…
5. No Limitations
This quote makes me imagine that I really don’t have anything to fear, for my fears are often imaginary anyway. The only limits are the ones you create and it's you that stands in your way. Call upon your inner strength and courage to do what it is you really think you cannot do and simply pretend that you can fly!

6. Dream Big
Fear can hinder our growth and experiences in life. Sometimes though, it can take a lot of courage to truly believe in yourself, your abilities and to know that you are worthy of giving yourself a shot. We must be willing to take the risks and not worry about our internal fear of failing (one of the top human fears out there).
7. Trust Yourself
Love him or hate him, you can’t deny these wise words by Steve Jobs! Follow your inner guide, your inner place of knowing, for it always knows what’s best for us. Many of his quotes relate to job seeking and to keep searching until you find the job that resonates with you, the job that makes you do your best work, and to never settle. It does take a lot of courage to become who we really are. It’s hard to go against the grain and be your unique self in this world. Have courage though, and just trust yourself.
8. Don't Worry What Others Think
I worked with a young engineer who was in the U.S. Army and I always remember him telling me to never worry about what others thought of me. At the time, I was very self-conscious and it took me some time to really stop worrying about what others think. Now, I rarely think about it. It’s one of the best pieces of advice that I can impart to you and it can be truly liberating.
9. Love Yourself
Life can sometimes take a lot out of us, but if we can find those moments of joy, laugh through the painful times and love ourselves no matter what - life will go a lot more smoothly for us.
Courage can mean many things, but what’s important is knowing what it is in life that makes you feel at your most courageous, and moves you past your comfort zone. Which quote about courage inspires you the most?
