Often times the most beautiful moments in life are the simplest, including simple activities that bring joy and comfort! With all the darkness in the world around us, it can seem frivolous to focus on the small yet beautiful aspects of life- however, if we don't focus on what's beautiful, darkness can take over, which is an ugly thing. Here are some simple activities you can do on a weekly basis that will bring in a little more life and beauty!

1. Grab Coffee with a Friend
I love coffee dates with friends when there is no time limit and you're just able to freely chat, laugh and enjoy each other's company. There's something sweet and beautiful and life-giving about sharing moments in with a close friend, which makes this one of the best simple activities to regularly enjoy! Make time to set weekly friend dates, where you meet at a local coffee shop and just catch up!
2. Smile Often
Never underestimate the power of a smile! As humans, we crave kindness and joy- it's ingrained into our DNA. Unfortunately, it's not shown frequently enough because of our busy culture or displaced fears of being judged. Be humble, smile and show kindness to others- it may be the only smile they see all day!

3. Listen Deeply to Others
We all want to be listened to and heard when we speak, especially when we pour our heart out to others. Show dignity by listening intently to others, making eye contact and validating their thoughts and feelings.
4. Create Something Inspirational
Beauty is also something that can be created. Write a poem, share your written thoughts for the world to see, make a piece of art- whatever you choose to do, make sure that it gives you life, which is what makes it beautiful and inspiring!
5. Spend Time with People
I think one of the best ways to experience life's beauty is to spend it with the people you love. Human connection is something we all need from birth, and while some may need it more than others based on personality differences, it's vital to cherish the moments we have with loved ones and make them a priority.
6. Measure People by Their Successes, Not Failures
It's so easy to point out people's flaws, even if it's only in your mind. There is a tendency to be comparative and when others fail, it's almost comforting to know that they aren't perfect. This isn't a good mindset to have, even if it's a natural one, because it focuses on a person's mistakes rather than their successes! So instead, be intentional about thinking good things about people, which will shape how you see others and even yourself.
7. Meditate in a Place That's Booming with Life
Lastly, it can be very life-giving to be in a place that's booming with life. I personally love places that are filled with laughter and pure joy, like parks that have children playing uninhibitedly. Perhaps your space of mediation is in the quiet of nature where life is in plant form. Find a place that speaks to you and take in all its beauty.
I think we often forget to stop and smell the roses, so to speak, in the business of life. Hope and joy are found when we stop and take the time to appreciate the small activities that are filled with beauty! What other activities can you add to this list?
