Why You Should Absolutely Love Being a Woman ...

By Teresa25 Comments

I don’t think any women need much convincing that it’s awesome to be a woman. We can do everything from give birth to run major companies (and even the world, according to Beyoncé!) However, if you still need some convincing every now and then, take to this list whenever you need a little reminder. Some of it is empowering, and some is just funny and a little frivolous, but I’m sure that it will make you happy and proud to be a woman!

1 We Live Longer

It’s been proven for a while now that women live longer than men. In fact, even as the life expectancy of men goes up, the life expectancy of women increases even more. If a longer life expectancy isn’t a reason to love being a woman, what is?

This longevity advantage is credited to a combination of genetic, behavioral, and lifestyle factors, which seem to benefit women's health. Genetically, women are predisposed to have two X chromosomes, which may provide an edge when it comes to certain genetic diseases. On the behavioral front, men often undertake riskier activities and may be less proactive in maintaining their health. Additionally, women generally emphasize connections and social networks, which have been linked to longer, healthier lives. So, embracing those extra years can be seen as celebrating the innate resilience and wise life choices inherent to womanhood.

Frequently asked questions

2 Have You Seen Men’s Clothing Sections?

We’ve all heard men complain about how much smaller the men’s clothing section is than women’s, but I don’t think I could deal with it. I didn’t even realize just how big the gap was until I was shopping for clothes for my baby brother. Even in the baby section, there are more options for girls than for boys! If nothing else makes me thankful to be a woman, it is the vast amount of clothing options we have!

3 Women Are Better at Leading

Sure, there’s that statistic floating around the Internet right now that more men named John run companies than all women do total, but that doesn’t mean that men are better at it. We have so many women leading and in positions of power at right now like Hilary Clinton, Sheryl Sandberg, and even Taylor Swift and Beyoncé who are basically running the world!

The fact is, women leaders tend to exhibit empathy, collaboration, and effective communication—qualities that foster a positive workplace culture. They're not just at the forefront; they're revolutionizing leadership standards. Female CEOs like Indra Nooyi and Mary Barra are showing how gender diversity can lead to innovative solutions and improved financial performance. The argument isn't that women should lead; it's clear they can lead—and often, they lead exceptionally well.

4 More Women Are Enrolled in College than Men

Did you know that if you’re a woman you are more likely to graduate college than if you were a man? Even if you’re going through a rough patch in school or something else that’s similar, just remember that you’re a woman, you are strong, and you can get through in anything. In fact, today, women in the workforce are more likely to have a bachelor’s degree than not.

5 We Can Get Away with Wearing Guys’ Clothes

Maybe this is arbitrary and frivolous, but isn’t it awesome that women can wear both men’s and women’s clothes? We can rock our own clothes with no problem, and we can even throw on a pair of guys’ jeans or a blazer and look just as amazing. In fact, a lot of female menswear is a trend that’s been around for a few years now!

6 The Coolest People Are Women

Think of all of the amazing female role models out there. Whether you know them or just admire them and their successes from afar, don’t you agree that most of the people you’re most impressed by are women? When I think of my role models, women always top the list, if they’re not the entire list!

7 We Run the World

Like Beyoncé says, we run the world. If Beyoncé says it, it must be true. It’s that simple, especially when you’re Beyoncé, who basically does run the world!

Why do you love being a woman? Let me know in the comments! I’m looking forward to hearing about why you’re proud to be a woman!
