Whether you want to find a boyfriend or get a promotion, what you're really looking for is happiness. That's the main point of life, after all. If you're unhappy, then you need to do whatever it takes to change that, because you deserve the very best. Here are a few questions you need to ask yourself to find true happiness:
If you're passionate about art, you need to paint or sculpt as often as you can. If you can make a career out of it, go for it. If you don't want to take that risk (which you should), then you should at least continue it as a hobby. Don't lose your passion. It's what makes life worth living.
After you make plans with your boyfriend, are you excited for them or do you dread them? If you don't look forward to seeing him, then why are you even together? The same goes for your plans with friends. If you never look forward to seeing certain people, find new people to associate with.
Life gets better as time passes. If life is better now than it was a year ago, the trend will continue and you'll be even happier by next year. That's something to be happy about. However, if life was actually better last year, than ask yourself why that is and see if you can fix the problem in any way.
When one person looks at Ruby Rose, they'll be jealous of her beauty. When another person looks at her, they'll be jealous of her talent. Someone else will be jealous of her money and someone else will be jealous of her fame. Think about what gets you the most jealous, because that's the thing you should focus on improving in your life.
If you love how selfless your mother is, aim to be more generous like her. If you love how silly your little brother is, try to be more carefree like him. You can still be yourself while trying to better yourself.
The easiest way to make yourself happy is by pinpointing why you're sad and then trying to fix it. If you're having trouble figuring out what exactly is upsetting you, then you should pay close attention to what times of day you're the most on edge. Is it during class? Is it at night when you're all alone? Is it when you're getting ready to go to the job you hate? Once you realize what sets off your sadness, you can work on fixing it.
Even if you realize that you're unhappy because you're poor, you won't be able to become rich overnight. That's why you should also think about the little things that make you happy. Do you love visiting your friends or watching Netflix? Then do those things on a weekly basis to keep yourself smiling.
Once you figure out the answer to these questions, you'll be able to make a better life for yourself. What are you going to do to change your happiness?
