1. Talk to Someone New
If you’re shy, this is especially challenging. You don’t have to have an hour long conversation with someone, but you should make an effort to chitchat a bit. If you’re worried about making a fool of yourself, talk to someone you know you’ll never see again, like a stranger at the supermarket. It’ll help you develop your social skills, and you might meet your new best friend. It doesn’t seem like much, but branching out by talking to strangers is one of the acts of bravery we should all try.
2. Order Something Different
If you’re going out to eat with friends, order a dish you’ve never tried before. If you’re browsing through shelves for tomorrow’s dinner, buy a snack or two that looks appetizing. Extra points if the treat is healthy. There are so many things your taste buds haven’t experienced yet. You should do them a favor and let them try all of the things they’ve missed out on up until today.
Frequently asked questions
3. Say "I Love You"
You don’t have to approach your crush and spill this confession. You can simply call up your parents and tell them you love them. Or if you’re hanging out with a friend that you’ve had for years, tell them. Romantic love isn’t the only type of love that exists. Embrace your feelings, and let your loved ones know that you care.
4. Be Honest
If someone asks you if you love a band that you’ve never heard of, don’t lie to them about it. Forget about being embarrassed and tell the truth. You’ll feel better if you make a habit of always being honest. That way, you won’t feel like you’re trying to be someone else. You are who you are, and you should embrace that.
5. Apologize
It’s difficult to apologize, even when you know that you’re wrong. However, it’ll feel good to make up with someone you had a fight with. If you’re currently in the midst of an argument, be the brave one and say you’re sorry. Being the one to patch things up takes courage.
6. Smile
You can’t strike up a conversation with every stranger that passes, but you can smile at each of them. Sometimes, that’s all it takes to make someone’s day. Don’t worry if they don’t return the gesture. There will be plenty of people that will, and they’ll make up for that one grumpy gus.
7. Wake up and Face the Day
The world can be cruel. Some days, it’s difficult to get up in the morning and live your life. You just want to remain in bed all day and forget about all of your responsibilities. But by rolling out of bed and facing the day, you’re being incredibly brave. It may seem like nothing, but it’s a huge accomplishment.
Whether you complete one of these tasks today, or all of them, be proud of yourself! It takes courage to do the things listed above. What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever done?
