These quotes for the school year always help me to get through whenever I am getting frustrated with my classes. It’s amazing how positive words can help you make it through the tough times. So the next time you find yourself feeling overwhelmed with your studies, remember these quotes for the school year and I guarantee they will help you to persevere.
Albert Einstein: "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its life believing that it is stupid."
This is one of my favorite quotes for the school year. While it is inconclusive whether or not Einstein was actually the one to say this, it doesn’t take away from the sentiment in the saying. Any time you are struggling in a class, remember that not everyone is going to be good at every single subject. What’s important is that you try your best and remind yourself of your strengths. This is a great and uplifting quote for the school year.
Socrates: "Wisdom begins with wonder."
This quote by Socrates goes hand in hand with your teacher saying, “There is no such thing as a stupid question.” You may get tired of hearing your teachers say that, but it’s true nonetheless. It’s important to ask questions and attempt to look further into a statement or discussion. Those who are wise often have vivid imaginations that are full of wonder. So if you are wondering about something, don’t be afraid to ask. The wisdom you’ll gain will last a lifetime.
Anonymous: "Minds are like parachutes. They only function when they are open."
This is another of my favorite quotes about education. I can not stress enough how true this quote is. It’s always important to listen to new ideas and to challenge your own beliefs. Being open minded is essential when it comes to learning. If you find you are struggling with ideas or concepts in a class, it could be because you aren’t willing to look at things from a new perspective.
Confucius: "Education breeds confidence. Confidence breeds hope. Hope breeds peace."
Confucius is known for his great wisdom and this quote is no exception. If peace isn’t a good motivator to study for your exams, I don’t know what is! This quote is great at getting you to look at the big picture of how important an education is in life. When you feel like school is getting almost impossible to bear, just remember how it might impact your life later on.
Nelson Mandela: "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."
I agree with Mandela’s point that education is often necessary to change the world. So the next time you feel like what you’re doing in class is insignificant, remember, it may just be the thing that helps you change the world. This helps me make it through whenever I’m feeling discouraged with my studies and I hope it does the same for you.
Dr. Seuss: "You have brains in your head, you have feet in your shoes, you can steer yourself in any direction you choose."
I have noticed that the older I get, the more relevant Dr. Seuss has become. This quote from ‘Oh, The Places You’ll Go’ is one of my favorite motivators for the school year. You have the power to become or do anything you want in life, you just have to hold yourself accountable and do it. More often than not, school is a stepping-stone to get your there, and it’s worth it to tough it out during the hard times. The end results will be worth it.
Anonymous: "The expert in anything was once a beginner."
This quote is so true! Everyone starts off somewhere. You don’t naturally become an expert overnight; it takes lots of time and work. What’s important is to not give up whenever something is difficult, it’s worth it to push through. If you keep trying, who knows, you may end up as an expert!
I hope these quotes for the school year help you make it through the year like they do for me. Sometimes it’s hard to find the motivation to go to class or do your homework, but these quotes put it all into perspective for me. Do you have a favorite quote that helps your survive the school year?
