Don’t Touch Your Face

black and white, photography, monochrome photography, beauty, monochrome, Have you heard this from your mom? There’s a lot of wisdom in this piece of advice. Unless your hands have been recently washed, they’ve got germs on them. You can make yourself sick when you touch your face. Additionally, you can make your acne worse if you’re squeezing bumps. So as mom would say, hands off your face, sweetie!

2

Be Yourself

hair, face, person, hairstyle, This’s such a simple piece of advice but a very important one. Many times you try on different identities in your adolescent years. Part of this’s because you’re still figuring out who you are. There’s a secret to this. If you relax and allow yourself to just be, you’ll find out exactly who you are.

3

The Best Revenge is Being Happy

human action, hair, facial expression, face, person, If you want to really get to someone who’s hurt you and tried to cause problems in your life, you can do that. Because the best revenge is being happy. When you live your life and enjoy all the beautiful blessings that you have, it’ll get to your enemies. Most enemies would love nothing more than for you to lower yourself to their level and fight back. Rising above that and being happy within your life and within yourself will get to them more than anything else you could possibly do.

4

Listen to Your Instincts

color, hair, facial expression, face, red, You know when you decide to do something and you have a bad feeling about it? Or when you meet someone but you sense some red flags about that person? Those’re your instincts. They’re very important and can help you all throughout your life. Instincts rarely ever steer you wrong.

5

The Character of Your Friends Will Become Your Character

black and white, musician, performance art, monochrome photography, monochrome, While this isn’t always true, often it turns out that way. Your friends have an influence on you. This’s true if you’re a teenager, in your young adult years or you’re a mature adult. This’s why it’s so important to be careful who you’re friends are. Choose friends who you respect and admire for their values.

6

The Right Guy Will do What It Takes to Win Your Heart

black, black and white, darkness, monochrome, monochrome photography, Girls, don’t worry about a guy leaving you over something trivial such as your curfew or your standards. If he’s the right guy, nothing like that will run him off. He’ll go along with whatever he has to in order to have you as his girl. It’s actually a good thing if you have a dad or an older brother that’s protective of you and let the boys you date know they’re expected to treat you right. Think of these things as good ways to screen out the ones who aren’t good enough.

7

Pretty is within

audience, fashion, musical theatre, fashion show, It’s nice to be attractive and try to look your best. But more important than that is your inner beauty. Think about this for a moment. If you know someone who’s outwardly very pretty but not at all pretty on the inside, it detracts from their beauty, doesn’t it? On the flip side, those you know who have caring, compassionate hearts are more attractive because of it, wouldn’t you agree?

These’re 7 bits of advice that mom was right about. Now it’s your turn. What did your mom always tell you?

So cute

My mom and I always fought about me reading magazines. I recently realized if I had read magazines I would be a lot more self conscious than I am. When I thanked her for not letting me read magazines she was shocked hahaha

My mother used to advise us " Do as you would be done by" and also " until you wear the other person's shoes don't judge them.

my mum would also tell me if she didn't like a particular friend...never used to listen to her until I realised she was right

These are all true

so acurate!
