All girls need to have some ways to have self respect.
Self respect. It’s something that all of us need in our lives but also something that many women struggle to get a hold of. In order to combat this, we often fill our lives with things that can take our minds off of this internal problem, things like bad relationships, fast relationships, pretty much any type of connection that takes up time but ultimately isn’t very good for you. The only way to break out of this cycle is to truly find self respect, and here are some of the best ways to have self respect that you'll ever find.
1. Don’t Settle
One of the absolute best ways to have self respect is to not settle. Don’t be scared of breaking off a relationship because you think you deserve more than what you are being given. It’s important not to settle for anything less than the best, and the best can mean different things to many different people. It’s all about finding contentment within yourself and never settling for less.
2. Get to Know Yourself
Take some time to really take a step back from all of the external noise in your life and turn your attention inward. Check in with yourself and think about what it is that you really want and you will find that you come out of it with a new focus on how to improve your circumstances and your self-worth.
3. Forgive Yourself
It is vital that you don’t beat yourself up for every little thing that goes wrong in your life. Nobody is perfect, absolutely nobody, but others might appear that way because they don’t let their mistakes get the better of them and they move on much more quickly. Try to do that yourself and you might see positive changes.
4. Forgive Others
It’s important not to keep grudges against people because most of the time the only person affected by the grudge is you. The internal angst and hate that a grudge inspires take up so much emotional energy, energy that you could be directing in more positive directions.
5. Cultivate a Positive Crew
Fill your life with people who are positive and who inspire you to be your best self. Whether it's family, friends or a mixture of the two, if they make you feel good about yourself, then you will eventually start to feel good about yourself too. Get rid of anybody in your life who makes you feel worthless or underappreciated.
6. Be Confident
Having confidence isn’t something that comes naturally to a lot of people, but if you act that way, you would be surprised at just how quickly real confidence starts to flow through you! If you act confidently, you get treated differently, and this can seep into your very soul to make a great positive change!
7. Don’t Compare Yourself
Never play the dangerous game of comparing yourself to others, because it is human nature to always choose somebody that is unattainably incomparable! Sure, you don’t have the same lifestyle as Beyoncé, but who apart from Queen Bey herself actually does!?
