Even if you're frustrated with the direction your life is going, you can't take the anger out on yourself, and you need to find ways to be nice to yourself. If the people in your life treat you like you're worthless, don't let them convince you that it's the truth. You're a valuable person, which is why you should use the following ways to be nice to yourself. You deserve it!

1 Alone Time
Don't be afraid to do things for yourself every once in a while. It's not selfish, it's healthy. Don't get pressured into seeing the movie your boyfriend wants to see or going to the restaurant your friends like best. If you'd rather do something else, go out on your own and have fun. You don't need others to have a good time, so doing something special for yourself is one of the most fulfilling ways to be nice to yourself.
2 Self Rewards
When you do something that you're proud of, reward yourself with a new pair of boots or a piece of chocolate. You don't have to complete one of the greatest achievement in the world. Something as small as getting through the day without yelling at your boss is worthy of a reward, so don't by shy and give yourself a treat.
3 Important Appointments
Don't let that tooth that's been bothering you rot in your mouth. Treat your body the way it deserves to be treated. That means that you might have to shell out some money for doctor's appointments, but it'll be worth it. Once you're physically healthy, it'll be easier to be mentally healthy.
4 Object Removal
If you hate your reflection, don't torture yourself by staring in the mirror. If you don't like you're weight, keep the scale hidden away in the closet. That way, you can focus more on your actions that what an inanimate object tells you.
5 Inner Voices
Take P!nk's advice and "change the voices in your head, make them like you instead." It's important to pay attention to the way that you speak to yourself. Are you always criticizing yourself, and blaming yourself for every little thing that happens in your life? If you do, you have to start training that voice to be a bit nicer. If you treated yourself the way you treat others, you'd be a lot happier.
6 First Place
You don't have to put others before you all the time. If you have an important meeting to get to, but your sister needs your help finishing her chemistry homework, you can ask your brother to help her. You're not in charge of everybody else's problems. As nice as it is to help others out, you need to put your issues first every once in a while if you want to lead a healthy life.
7 Basic Needs
Don't skip meals, even if you're running late for class. Don't forget to make time for your friends so that you have an active social life. Do whatever you need to do to keep yourself healthy and happy. No exceptions.
No matter what anyone tries to tell you, you're a beautiful human being that is worthy of kindness. You can't control how nicely strangers treat you, but you have the power to be nice to yourself. What's the nicest thing that you've done for yourself lately?
