When you are newly turned 21 and you think you have the entire world at your feet, in some ways you are totally right and in other ways you are totally wrong! Sure, you might have a lot of opportunity and time on your side, but unless you are educated and savvy about life in general, you are never going to be able to make the most of all those things that you have going for you! Being a twenty-something in the world today is both exhilarating and terrifying; it just depends on what you know! Here are ten things that every 20-something girl should know!
You need to do everything in your life with some sort of passion, or you shouldn’t be doing it at all! Don’t waste your time fulfilling obligations that you aren’t passionate and excited about, there is so much more to life!
You are currently stuck in that place between young adult freedom and full adult responsibilities, and it is okay to walk that fine line for a bit, so long as you don’t end up neglecting your mature calling when it comes.
No matter how much you don’t feel like it, never fall into the trap of thinking that traveling is overrated! Do as much of it now as you can because the chances will only get more and more limited as you get older.
Don’t worry too hard about making friends, because ultimately your natural vibe will attract your true tribe! Just live your life in the way that you want to and you will pick up similarly minded people along the way.
Being single in your twenties is 100% okay! Don’t feel like you need to force yourself into settling down because you see others around you doing so. That is no way to enter in to an authentic relationship.
Exercise can be fun, and it is important that you do some, you’re not going to have your twenties body forever! Find a form of working out that you actually enjoy instead of something that you see as a chore. It makes so much difference.
Water is the gift of the gods, so make sure you make the most of it! Stay hydrated and not only will you feel healthier in the present, you will also be doing your skin a favor for the future.
Don’t live your life through social media, it will give you a fear of missing out on special occasions, and you will spend too much time negatively comparing yourself to others when you should be concentrating in your own existence.
It’s never too late to learn! Just because you are over school age, it doesn’t mean that you should cease to be curious and not want to expand your horizons in lots of different areas.
No matter how you feel right now, these are probably going to be some of the best years of your life when you look back on them, so don't beat yourself up too hard in the moment!
