Are you wondering about the reasons you’re having meltdowns as an adult? Meltdowns aren’t something anyone wants to have but sometimes they happen. There can be a lot of different things that can bring them on. It can be good to explore the reasons you’re having meltdowns.

1 You’ve Got PMS

Isn’t PMS just awful? It makes you feel miserable and crabby. Sometimes you don’t even want to be with yourself. Can you relate? PMS may be one of the top reasons you’re having meltdowns as an adult. There are some things you can do to help such as avoid simple carbs before your period and get some daily exercise.

2 You’re Tired

Very few women actually get the amount of sleep that they need each night. If you’re one of those sleep deprived women, you‘re probably also chronically tired. When you aren’t getting the rest you need, you may find yourself running on fumes. Then you’re short-tempered and easily frustrated as a result. Making some changes in your sleeping habits can really help you out if this is one of your meltdown triggers.

3 You’re Overwhelmed

Sometimes you’re in a position in life that causes you to feel overwhelmed. You may be trying to go to school and work at the same time. You could have small children that require a lot of your time and care. These are some situations that are actually good things but may cause you to feel overwhelmed at the same time. Making sure that you are taking extra good care of yourself during those times is key.

4 There’s No Time for Fun

Your schedule may be packed which leaves you feeling slammed. If you’re constantly overbooked and on the run, it may be time to see if you can cut anything out. You need to have time for fun. Fun is an important part of having great balance in your life. If you can’t remember the last time you did anything just for fun then you’re way overdue.

5 You’re Lonely

Sometimes being lonely can make you feel sad and lead to meltdowns. Maybe you’re lonely because you haven’t met that special someone just yet. If this is your situation, don’t give up hope. It’s a huge world full of possibilities for a love match. In the meantime, enjoy being with your friends and family. This is a much better option than sitting home all alone.

6 Your Stress Level is through the Roof

Stress is a huge cause of meltdowns. It may even be the biggest one. If you’re feeling like you are stretched thin and your patience is even thinner, you’re probably dealing with a lot of stress. Learning some stress management skills could be very helpful. You’ll feel a lot better if you have the skills to deal with stress comes calling.

7 You Aren’t Taking Care of Yourself

This one is easy enough to do. You get busy living or just get a bit lax in good habits. Eating well, getting enough sleep and exercising most days of the week are important. When you don’t do these things, you begin to feel out of sorts. This can end up causing meltdowns, which you don’t want.

These are 7 triggers of meltdowns but there are certainly more. What is usually the trigger to your meltdowns? How do you deal when you are in this spot?
