1. Will Smith and Carlton Banks
Because of their amazing chemistry both on-screen and off-screen, these two cousins are one of my favorite American TV duos. Played by Will Smith and Alfonso Ribeiro, respectively, there has not been one episode of "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" that has failed to make me burst out in uproarious laughter. Watching the moments where they set aside their differences, thus strengthening their familial bond, was incredibly heart-lifting.
2. Beavis and Butt-head
How could I write this list without including one of the most innovative duos to hit the MTV-nation? Beavis and Butt-head provided their audience with great laughing material through the ridiculous amount of hijinks they got themselves up to.
Frequently asked questions
3. Olivia Benson & Elliot Stabler
"Law & Order: SVU" is one of the most influential shows on television. Detectives Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler managed to bring the fictionalized court cases to life through their electric chemistry alone. Despite Stabler's eventual departure from the show, this dynamic duo remains as one of my favorites.
4. Zack Morris & Screech Powers
"Saved By the Bell" was one of the shows that always kept me laughing. Zack Morris and Screech Powers's antics when getting into trouble (and thus finding crazy ways to get out of it) provided their audience with the best laughs.
5. Lucy Ricardo & Ethel Mertz
I am sure that I am not the only one who thinks that these two leading ladies are a part of one of the most loved duos of all time. Their hilariously competitive nature made it easy for me to be both envious and in awe of their unwavering friendship.
6. J.D. Dorian & Christopher Turk
I love that actors Zach Braff and Donald Faison's personalities meshed so well off-screen that their chemistry effortlessly translated on the show. Any situation involving these comedic doctors was sure to be eventful!
7. Michael Scott & Dwight Shrute
I will never tire of watching the hilarity ensue between this lovable duo on Netflix. The dynamic between the comedic Michael Scott and Dwight Shrute is definitely one for the ages. Because of the complimenting nature of their friendship, Michael Scott's exit from “The Office” was even harder to accept.
8. Cory Matthews & Shawn Hunter
I grew up watching "Boy Meets World" characters Cory Matthews and Shawn Hunter. It is almost as if the show's growth had a ripple effect on my own maturity; as they got older and their personalities developed, I found myself growing into my own skin in a similar fashion. Because of the comfortably easy banter between these two, they will always be engraved in my heart.
9. Felix Unger & Oscar Madison
Last but not least, this odd couple more than deserves this final slot on the list. "The Odd Couple" was one of the shows that my family loved coming together to watch; growing up, I always heard about these roommates with diverse personalities. Felix Unger and Oscar Madison have often been hailed as one of the original dynamic duos; although this show was broadcasted long before I was born, catching a few recorded episodes led me to agree with this notion wholeheartedly.
The greatest part about keeping up with a TV series is watching the interaction between characters. Getting to see the evolution of a friendship between best friends (whose relationship may not have started that way) is one of my favorite perks. Were there any dynamic duos that made an impact on you?
