1. People Aren’t Thinking of You as Much as You Think They Are
One of the best tips on how to be less self conscious I could give you is to tell you to try to remember that people aren’t thinking about you as much as you think they are. Everyone is more preoccupied with what’s happening in their life and they won’t probably notice that you did something that you think is unacceptable or embarrassing.
2. Don’t Agree with Your Negative Thoughts
People become self conscious because they worry too much about what others are thinking of them and that they will confirm their negative thoughts. Your thoughts become negative only if you view them as negative. For example, if someone tells you that you are fat even though you weight only 120 lbs. you will agree with them if you don't think that someone who weights this much is overweight.

3. Celebrate Your Strengths
Another very helpful way to be less self conscious is by celebrating your strengths every day. If you have trouble seeing them, you could make a list and name one of your strengths or abilities every day. You could also make a list of all the hardships you’ve overcome and all the goals you’ve accomplished. Just keep it close and look at it every now and then to remind yourself who you really are.
4. Create a Support System
Create a support system and surround yourself with people who love you, who inspire you and who will encourage you to never give up on trying to fulfill your dreams. Try to distance yourself from people who bring you down and be with the ones who accept you and who believe in you.
5. Don’t Be Afriad to Fail
To be less self conscious you need to accept yourself just the way you are. Try to remember that we all make mistakes and that nobody’s perfect - we're all human after all. Just learn from your mistakes and don’t be afraid to fail because failure can be one of the best teachers you’ll ever have.
6. Forgive Yourself
Forgive yourself for your mistakes, for every time you failed and try to accept yourself just the way you are so you can grow and become better at what you do. Don’t dwell on your past and try not to worry so much about the future, just live in the present and enjoy yourself.
7. Be Kind to Yourself!
Be kind to yourself and shush your inner critic. Your inner critic is not always a voice of reason and it can make you doubt yourself sometimes. Just remember that you are only human, that you are doing the best you can do and that your imperfections are not failures; they are opportunities to learn.
Self-acceptance is something you can nurture. It’s a skill that you can practice and it’s not an innate trait that you either have or don’t. Do you know any other tips on how to be less self conscious? Please share your thoughts with us in the comments section!
