1. Winning the Lottery

Yes, we all dream of being rich. We love the idea of not having to go to work, and having a maid do our chores for us. But winning a lifetime supply of cash is one of the things you think will make you happy, but won’t necessarily. At first, you can spend your free time with friends. But too much free time is dangerous. What are you going to do when you run out of shows to watch and parties to attend? Believe it or not, it’s good for you to have a job to go to. It keeps you working hard, and gives your life meaning.

2. Growing Older

We’re always trying to live in the future. Instead of focusing on how great our lives currently are, we think about how badly we want to grow up. When we’re kids, we want to be teenagers. When we’re teenagers, we want to be treated as adults. However, you won’t be happy if you’re always living in the future. Try to pay attention to today, and deal with tomorrow when it comes.

Frequently asked questions

3. Perfect Looks

We all have imperfections, but there’s nothing wrong with that. If you looked perfect, you wouldn’t know who likes you for your personality, and who likes you for your looks. It would also take away a part of what makes you human. If you don’t have any insecurities, you’re more of a robot than a living thing.

4. Instant Fame

Everyone has dreams of becoming a singer or actress. While there’s nothing wrong with those professions, fame has its downside. Think of all of the days when you want to lounge around in sweatpants and don’t want to bother with your make-up. The entire world would see photos of it, because the paparazzi can be relentless. You would no longer have a private life. Everything you say would be scrutinized, and every move you make would be televised.

5. Different past

If you had different parents, or grew up in a different location, you wouldn’t be the same lovely girl that you are today. Your past has shaped you into who you are. By wanting to change your past, you’re asking to change whom you are as a person.

6. More Friends

The more, the merrier, right? While it’s nice to have a large group of friends, it’s harder to keep in touch with them all. Sometimes you have to choose between having a few close friends and a hundred acquaintances you barely see. It’s all up to you.

7. Answers to Everything

There are questions that everyone asks, but never finds the answer to. What is the purpose of life? Are there beings on other planets? While it would be nice to have the answer to some of the big questions, it’s nice to ponder the possibilities. If you knew the answer to everything, that would take away the fun of the unknown.

Happiness is a strange thing. We think that certain things will cause us joy, when really the things we love are already with us. If you could have anything in the world, what would it be?

I would want to fluent in Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Hebrew, and Latin. To know all those without a second of study I would be sooooo happy!

Well you could always win the lottery and still go to work, just with a different purpose :p Winning the lotto would make everyone happy lol but considering the chances I don't spend money on the gamble. Still though I would have to disagree with that one. I agree that wishing to change the past or your appearances won't really make you happy.

Skinniness as well. Too many people think if they're skinny they will be happy, but are sadly mistaken.

Can't really say unless you have them. Wishful thinking hurts though.

I love this article, especially #3! I totally agree with it!

I would really like a friend. I have a boyfriend, sisters. but thats it.

I would love to win the lottery, I would then be able to go to school without getting anymore loans and I won't have to worry about paying for rent or get a job all I would have to do is go to school and I'm 23 so that would be great
