Yes, there are bigger problems in the world than the ones you're dealing with, but that doesn't mean that you're not allowed to feel emotion. You shouldn't feel guilty for being upset over the little things in life. There are plenty of reasons it's okay to be sad, and here are just a few of them:

Something that someone else considers silly could mean the world to you. Every person is different, which is why it's hard for even your closest friends to see things from your perspective. They can't understand what you're going through, because they're too focused on their own lives.
