Dust if you Must is a poem to make you stop and think.
Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better
To paint a picture or write a letter,
Bake a cake or plant a seed,
Ponder the difference between want and need?
Dust if you must but there's not much time,
With rivers to swim and mountains to climb,
Music to hear and books to read,
Friends to cherish and life to lead.
Dust if you must, but the world's out there,
With the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair,
A flutter of snow, a shower of rain.
This day will not come around again.
Dust if you must, but bear in mind,
Old age will come and it's not kind.
And when you go, - and go you must.
You, yourself, will make more dust.
A poem that makes us ponder how we dust. Life is a package and you are the one who is going to fill it up. However, you fill your life is up to you. We are given time to spend doing what you want to do with your life. Will you help others, empower others, love, care, be compassionate, and all the good things to inspire the people around you and the people that loved you or the other way. Bad things happen and it changes you, truth is, it's really hard not to be bitter, resentful, angry, and cold. It takes time to heal and there's no other way but through. Through pain, we grow to become a better version of ourselves that we wish we already were. Reach out, it helps a lot. Be a part of something bigger than yourself, the more you share with others, the more you realize that there are far more unfortunate people than you. They will inspire you too. Don't get so busy with life that you forget what is important. The difference between needs and wants. To know what's worth it from what's not. To have a great adventure and create your own trail. To feel the seasons as they come. Have fun when you can and lots of it.
