Individuals with the horoscope sign of Cancer are wonderful people. Of course, I may be a little biased, as I’m married to a wonderful man who happens to be a Cancer. But like all horoscope signs, there are challenging traits as well as positive traits. These are some challenging traits you may have if you’re a Cancer.
Sometimes a Cancer can be oversensitive. You may take things differently than they were actually intended. If you’re oversensitive then you’re most likely aware of that fact. Someone has probably made a comment to you about it at some point. Realizing that you’re oversensitive can actually help you to overcome that. It gives you the reality check you need.
2. Being Self-absorbed
Cancer individuals can be a little self-absorbed at times. You have such a good heart as a Cancer; you truly don’t mean to be self-absorbed. It’s just easy for you to get very involved in your own life and not pay a lot of attention to those close to you, which can lead to them feeling you’re uncaring. Make a conscious effort to be interested in what’s going on in your friends' and family’s lives. Let them know you care about what’s going on in their world, too.
You may fall on the pessimistic side if you’re a Cancer. You don’t allow yourself the luxury of pretending reality isn’t harsh. And while it’s good to acknowledge that difficult things can happen, leave room for the possibility that things may work out better than you’re expecting. You can’t completely retire your pessimistic nature but you can be a little more open-minded to the possibility of things working out well. This does wonders to improve your mood, too.
4. Holding onto Grudges
Cancer’s don’t forget when they’ve been treated wrongly. You can hold a grudge for a very long time. It’s good to learn the lessons life teaches you about others but you don’t want to carry a grudge. The person that hurts the most is actually you. Do yourself a favor and let go of the grudges you’re holding. You’ll feel lighter and freer.
Cancers can be very stubborn. Having determination can be a good thing. But it can also cause problems in your life if you aren’t careful. Learn to discern between being determined for the right reasons versus being stubborn only for the sake of being stubborn. Make the decision to use your stubbornness for good, not for the sake of proving a point.
6. Being an Avoider
Cancers are wonderful at avoiding difficult subjects and situations. While it’s understandable to want to avoid things that make you uncomfortable or are difficult to deal with, you can’t always do that. It can help to have a matter of fact approach when you have to deal with difficult things. Face the music, do what you must, and move on. This advice can help you in dealing with situations on your job or in personal relationships.
You have an ability to detach yourself from situations as a Cancer. This can be a good thing and a bad thing. It keeps you from getting emotionally involved in things that you don’t need to. But it can also keep you from experiencing life as fully as you could in your personal relationships. The trick is to know when to detach and when not to. You need to stay clued in when it comes to personal relationships; the rest are probably things it’s good to detach from.
