1. READ
One of the best things to do when you're lonely is to read a book. Not only does reading give you a chance to be more knowledgeable, but you can also learn new things and distract yourself from loneliness by going to a whole new place inside a book. Take time to read, whether it's books, magazines or the newspaper. You'll be so glad you did!
2. TRAVEL
Many of us women don't know how to lift ourselves when we are being attacked by loneliness. When you are broken, then you need to find yourself, which can help you find healing, peace and a place where in you can find new people and new experiences. Traveling alone can be a bit scary, but you'll love how powerful it makes you feel and you'll love making new friends all over the world.
Frequently asked questions
3. ORGANIZE an EVENT
You love hanging out with your friends, but it's hard to find time with your busy schedules. Organize a potluck or hike and invite all of your besties. When it's on the calendar, you'll all be more likely to show up. There's nothing like seeing friends to get rid of those lonely feelings you're having.
4. GET a PET
Owning a pet can decrease depression, stress and anxiety. If you don't own a cat or dog, consider getting one. When everyone else is too busy and you're feeling lonely, your beloved pet will always be there to make you feel better. If you can't have a pet, volunteer at an animal shelter to get the same benefits.
5. KEEP a JOURNAL or DIARY
Having a journal gives you the perfect outlet for your loneliness. When you write down how you're feeling, it's easier to deal with and can make you feel better. When your phone isn't ringing, grab a pen and paper and be friends with yourself.
