Exceptional Inspiration to Show Being Complacent Will Not Move You Forward in Life ...

I'm going to tell you why being complacent will not move you forward. Do you want something more out of life? Because you can probably have it, but the world isn’t just going to give it to you.

Complacency is becoming too common.

Unfortunately, it appears in some of the more important parts of everyday life. You can become complacent in a job. You can become complacent in a relationship. You can become complacent with yourself.

Here's why being complacent will not move you forward.

1 Complacency at Work

The main way that this can be detrimental to you, is by staying somewhere you have outgrown. You don’t have to have the same job your whole life. The problem occurs when people are making enough money to live comfortably, the job provides flexibility because of your loyalty, and you have deep connections there. These are not reasons to stay at a job.

You should stay at a job if it makes you happy. You should stay at a job if it makes you feel fulfilled. There are so many excuses to stay. But there are so many more reasons to spread your wings. One of the worst excuses I’ve heard is a woman telling my friend that she doesn’t need to get another, more rewarding, job because her husband makes good money.

What year are we in? Why are women putting down the dreams of other women? That attitude is exactly why being complacent will not move you forward.

Frequently asked questions

2 Complacency in Relationships

This point is quick because there is really only one question to ask in a variety of ways. Are you with your partner because they make you better and feel whole or are you with them because it’s easy?

Are you friends with people because you build each other up or because it’s convenient? Are you surrounding yourself with people that help get you where you want to go or are you surrounding yourself with people that tear you down?

3 Complacency with Yourself

It’s making the decision to stay up and take that extra step toward your dream or getting 30 more minutes of sleep before you start the monotonous cycle again.

It’s seeing that you need to change or improve but ignoring it by saying that “this is as good as it gets”. You are your own worst enemy just like I am my own worst enemy

You have to decide to change before the change will come.
