What Even the Best of Us Struggle with ...

By Holly5 Comments

It doesn't matter how old you are, how beautiful you are, or how successful you are--each and every one of us struggle with certain things in life. Even though we're all unique, there are qualities we share. So the next time you're upset about your situation, you can feel comforted by the fact that you're not alone, because here are a few things that even the best of us struggle with:

1 Being a Good Person

It doesn't matter if you're a convict or a college graduate or both--we all struggle to remain moral. Maybe you've felt the urge to cheat on a test or on your boyfriend. Maybe you've struggled to stop yourself from stealing out of your mom's purse or lying to her about where you're going late at night. We all have trouble controlling certain urges. Having the desire to do bad things doesn't make you a bad person.

Frequently asked questions

2 Figuring out What We Want

Most of us don't know what job we want to have when we're in high school. In fact, most college students change their majors up to five different times before they settle on the career path they want to take. If you can't figure out what you want just yet, don't worry. Plenty of other people are in the same boat as you.

3 Forgiving Ourselves

We've all done bad things that we wish we could take back. However, it's impossible to change the past. All you can do is forgive yourself for it. That can be difficult to do, but it's healthy, because it will allow you to move on and become a better person. Even though it's hard to accept the things you've done, it's time for you to do so.

4 Feeling Insecure

Some of us hate our looks. Some of us hate our personalities. It doesn't matter whether you're insecure about your stomach or your shyness, because we all struggle with certain "flaws." It's part of being human.

5 Finding a Mate

It takes a while to find the person you're meant to spend the rest of your life with. If you've tried everything from speed dating to Tindr, but still can't get a boyfriend, it doesn't mean there's something wrong with you. It just means you haven't met your match. Wouldn't you rather be single for a few extra years than waste your time dating someone that's unhealthy for you to be with?

6 Making Friends

If you have trouble making friends, it doesn't mean you're unlikable. It's difficult to find people that you click with, especially as you get older. People have jobs to go to and responsibilities to take care of, so if you're turned down whenever you ask someone to hang out, it doesn't mean they don't like you. They probably just have a busy life.

7 Taking Care of Ourselves

It's hard to take good care of yourself mentally and physically. You have to visit doctors that test your eyes, your teeth, and even your breasts and vagina. You also have to remember to brush your teeth, floss, sleep for long enough, and eat right. There are so many things that you need to do to treat your body right, and while we all struggle to keep up with doctor's appointments and diets, it's something we have to do.

Struggles make us stronger, so in a way, you should be thankful for them. Which of these things do you struggle with the most?
