Pay Them a Compliment

One of the easiest ways to show gratitude is to recognize someone for their talents and special skills. Let mom know how awesome dinner tastes. Tell your husband how great a dad he is to your kids. You can even remind your sister how she is absolutely gorgeous.

2

Tip Big

Your stylist, waitress, and tattoo artist all work hard to provide you with special service. Honor them and show gratitude by beefing up your tip a little. I promise they will feel very grateful for your generosity and remember it the next time you come to eat or get your hair done.

3

Hand-Written Thank You

I’m sure you are always sure to say thanks when needed. Take that thanks a step further and express it in a hand-written letter. Express your feelings in a note. Let them know how much you value them and how thankful you are to have them in your life. Your hand-written note will mean the world to them.

4

Express Yourself

Sometimes people just need to hear how special they are to you. When the moment strikes share your heart with the person that matters most in your life. Tell them how you appreciate their love and kindness and value all the ways that they impact your life. You may just be giving someone a little encouragement when they need it most.

5

Plan a Special Day

It is nice to have a day that is all about you and filled with all the things you love. Think how honored someone would feel if you planned a day like that for them, just because. Not because it’s their birthday or you are celebrating an anniversary together, but genuinely just because you want to do something special for them.

Do a Chore

We all have duties that we don’t enjoy doing. Raking leaves, cleaning dishes, folding laundry, you get the picture. When someone steps in and does one of these chores for you it not only makes you day a little bit happier and easier, but it also fills your heart. Return the favor and do a chore for someone you care about. Wash your mom’s car, make dinner for your sister, or help your brother mow the backyard. I know I would love it someone came over and washed dishes for me. Can you think of a chore or task you could do for someone else?

Saying Thanks

It goes without saying that we should all remember to say thank you to others. Unfortunately, life gets busy and small acts of kindness get push by in the hustle of things. I encourage you to slow down and to acknowledge all the small acts of kindness and generosity of others. Give thanks.

Who are the special people in your life that you want to thank? Have you ever done anything special for someone to show them just how much you care? How was your gratitude received? We would love to hear your imput.
