7 Ways to Mend Your Inner Self and Become Stronger ...

By Bridget

If you're feeling tired, stressed out, overworked, depressed and well, just a little blah about life in general, you may be in need of some ways to mend your inner self. Believe it or not, you hold the power to controlling the way that you feel physically, and by employing a few simple tactics, you can actually make yourself feel a whole lot better. Here's a look at ways to mend your inner self so that you can be the best you.

1 Stop Worrying

It may seem like a natural instinct to worry, but in fact, worrying is something that serves absolutely no purpose, so putting a stop to worrying is one of the ways to mend your inner self. Worrying is completely worthless. While there are things that you can do to change the future, there is nothing that you can do to change things that are beyond your control. Worrying about tomorrow takes away the joys of your today. Stop worrying and you'll start feeling a whole lot better.

2 Concentrate on What You Can Control

While there are things in your life that you can't control, there are things that you can. One way to heal your inner self is to concentrate on those things that you can control. Feeling stressed because you are trying to get things together at the last minute? Start planning ahead. Depressed because you didn't put enough money aside for your bills? Make a budget to control your expenses. Concentrate on what you can control and you'll start feeling more in control of your life - and you'll start feeling a whole lot better.

3 Think Positive

It's easy to get caught up in the negative, but doing that will only bring you down. Tell yourself you are doing a great job juggling the million and one things you are juggling. Pat yourself on the back. Give yourself some pep talks. Think positive thoughts; it's amazing the power that positivity can have.

4 Look for Inspiration

Everyone has a source of inspiration. Whether it's reading a book, looking at artwork or watching the waves roll in on the beach; find what inspires you and let that inspiration heal your inner self.

5 Surround Yourself with Good People

Take a look at the people in your life. Believe it or not, some of them may be bringing you down. Spending too much time with a Negative Nancy and a Debbie Downer will surely make you feel glum. If you spend a lot time with people like this, consider cutting them out, or limiting the amount of time you spend with them.

6 Breathe

While breathing may be an automatic reflex, not breathing properly can make you feel stressed out. When you feel tensions rising, concentrate on your breathing. Take in deep breaths through your nose and exhale from your mouth. You'll feel a weight lift off your shoulders.

7 I Think I Can

The Little Engine that Could really knew what he was talking about; he thought he could and he DID. Apply the moral of that story to yourself. When you think that you can, you will start believing in yourself and start achieving your goals. You'll be amazed by how much thinking you can will actually heal your inner self.

Don't get down in the dumps; heal your inner self and you'll feel like a whole new person. What do you do to heal yourself?
