5 Ways to Make Time for Your Passions ...

One of the main problems and obstacles you tend to come across in modern life is that there never seems to be enough time in a day for you to do all of things that you have been hoping to do. By the time you have gone to school or to work and then come home to fuel yourself and bathe, it’s time to go to bed! This can be a monotonous and uninspiring cycle to find yourself in, mostly because it leaves out any opportunity for chasing your dreams and interests! Here are some ways to make time for your passions.

1 Time Wasting

You need to sit down and have a real think about where in your daily routine you are wasting time. A lot of the things we see as essential are actually not: things like sitting in front of the TV for a few hours a night or having two hours extra lay-in at the weekend. If you really thought about it, you could take that time and spend it doing more of your interests and hobbies.

2 Set a Date

Rather than just keep your passions in your mind and ‘wishing’ you could find the time, simply put your foot down and set a date with a friend or a significant other where you can clear your schedule and actually spend your time on the things that you love. It might be a bike ride, it might be going to a theme park, it might be simply playing some fun games together. Whatever it is, the point is that you have carved out the time!

3 Use a Planner

Buy yourself a nice sturdy planner and have it in pride of place on the coffee table or out in the hall, somewhere where you can see it all the time. Having a physical diary type thing to refer to can make it a lot easier for you to find time to do the things that you really love, because you will be able to actually see the parts of the day and week when you don’t have any other commitments.

4 You First

Many people find they don’t have time to do things they love because they are too busy fulfilling the needs and wants of other people around them, be it friends, family, or work. You need to be a little bit more selfish with your time, don’t automatically put the needs of others before your own, because self-care is an incredibly important element of life.

5 List of Priorities

Sit down and write a list of your main priorities in life. Do it without thinking so that your true priorities come to the surface, and when you have finished, match up this dream list with what your life and schedule actually looks like from day to day. Where there are differences that are currently making your life worse and more time consuming, make the effort to change it so that you end up with more opportunities to indulge in your passions.
