There are loads of ways to love yourself more each day. I’m sure we’ve all been through a little bit of a rough patch in our lives when we feel a little insecure and uncomfortable with ourselves. Usually when that happens it makes us a little distant from those we love because we don’t feel like we’re good enough. There are many different habits we can change throughout our day to increase our moods and attitudes and make our lives a lot happier.
Here are 5 ways to love yourself more each day.
1 Wake up and Makeup
One of the best ways to love yourself more each day is to get up and get going. Wake up at least 2-3 hours each morning before you usually do. Studies find that in doing so we are able to complete some extra chores or tasks which brings less stress throughout the day. Throw a little makeup on! A bit of lipstick, mascara, and bronzer or blush goes a long way. Give yourself 10 minutes each morning to make yourself feel beautiful! Your confidence throughout the day will rise and help to tackle the tougher responsibilities.
2 Eat Healthy Be Healthy
If you eat a balanced breakfast, you will become more productive and your ability to concentrate will increase. Eat foods that are high in nutrients, vitamins, and fiber such as:
o Greek yogurt
o Bananas, Grapefruit, Berries
o Cereal with at least 5 grams of fiber
o Protein/Granola Bar
Workout! Get your body moving and increase your circulation. Walk, run, bike or do some yoga. If you’re in a time crunch, then some light stretching of the arms and legs will really make a difference.
3 Be Kind and Strong
Be the bigger person if someone is trying to bring you down. Just be kind to them and go on about your day. We’re harder on ourselves than anyone else could ever be, so don’t let anyone make you feel less than. Stand your ground and stand up for yourself all while wearing that beautiful smile!
4 Treat Yo Self!
I’m not saying to go out and buy that expensive makeup pallet or handbag you’ve had your eye on or to go to that new spa everyone’s been talking about, but just do something nice for yourself. Try a new face mask or a new nail polish, deep condition your hair, or indulge in that slice of cheesecake you’ve been eyeing at your bakery. Take care of your soul and relax your mind, find that connection within yourself that makes you feel whole.
5 Get Some Rest
Adult women need at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night in order to function optimally the next day. Plan your day out so that you can give yourself enough time to rest properly. Have trouble falling asleep? Apply calming lotions or oils at night. Give your feet a gentle massage or take a warm bath or shower to help unwind after a long day. Stay off of electronics and keep your bedroom dark. We have enough distractions throughout the day and by eliminating these at bedtime we’re able to just focus on getting rest.
By creating these habits in your everyday life, you will become more comfortable in your own skin and be able to take on the world! The more love you have for yourself, the more capable you are of receiving love in return.
