You might not know it right now, but 2019 is going to be the year where you finally start to get your stuff together and level up in terms of life progress and everything that encompasses it! From your personal life to your professional life, there is always room for improvement; even Oprah has to check in with herself every now and then! No matter how far you have to go until you reach your goals, here are seven ways to uplevel your life this year.
1. Change Your Mindset
It is crucial that you start to think about your life in different terms so that you can change how you feel. Improve the way that you talk to yourself - really - some of the things you say to yourself in the mirror you wouldn’t say to your worst enemy! Change what you think is possible for yourself, and shift your focus from the past to the present and future.
2. Organize Your Values
Think about what your core values are, and work on focusing just on those ones rather than clouding your mind with lots of different elements of life that you don’t care enough about. You will feel much happier and more positive when you only commit to activities and people that align with your most important values.
Write down your vision for the future, keeping it streamlined to only the things that mean the most to you. Once you have a clear visual of what you want to achieve, you can then start setting goals to improve your life.
Work on developing habits that provide you with outlets that you haven’t had before. It can be fun to get out of your comfort zone. After all, how are you going to level up in life if you keep doing exactly the same things that you have been doing for years?
Try to be on your best behavior, in the sense that you should treat people as you would like to be treated, show respect, and compassion in every situation where it is warranted, and take responsibility for your actions when you know that you have done something to put you in the wrong! That is a sign of true maturity and progress.
6. Better Choices
Try to listen to your gut and instincts more often when making your decisions, rather than being peer pressured and forced in to doing things that you don’t want to do. Sometimes it is external forces that prevent us from levelling up, so don’t be kept back in life because of the pressure from others.
Be strict with yourself and hold yourself accountable in all areas of life. If you commit to discipline when things don’t go according to plan, you will start to subconsciously behave better to avoid the punishments that you are willing to give yourself!
