There are simple ways to feel accomplished everyday, so you should never go to sleep without having done something productive. You're not expected to do something life-changing, but you should try to do little things that will make your day feel like it wasn't a waste. Here are some of the easiest ways to feel accomplished everyday:
1. Venture outside
If you're cooped up in the house all day, without changing out of your pajamas, you won't feel very productive. If you change your clothes and step outside to take your dog for a walk, you'll get your body and mind moving. It's one of the easiest ways to feel accomplished everyday, because it doesn't take much effort, but it can lead to you doing more productive things once the walk ends.
2. Respond to Emails
We live in a digital age, which means your inbox is probably filled with messages. Respond to the important ones that you've been putting off or contact a friend whom you haven't spoken to in a long time. Getting in touch with them might not change the world, but it can make you feel like you accomplished something good.
3. Start Cleaning
You can't clean the whole house everyday, but you can keep it from getting too messy. Wash whatever plates and silverware you use today without letting the dishes pile up. Put your clothes in the hamper instead of tossing them on the floor. Make your bed instead of tossing the blankets around. They're all simple things, but seeing a clean living space will make you feel more accomplished.
4. Plan for Tomorrow
If you're too busy or tired to do anything worthwhile today, you can still plan for tomorrow. Make a list of all of the things you need to do, so that you don't forget anything important. Set alarms on your phone so that you're reminded of certain chores at specific times. Do whatever you can to make tomorrow productive if today won't be.
5. Go on a Job Search
Even if you already have a job, you should be looking at job listings. Unless you're lucky enough to already have your dream job, you could always find a better place. It doesn't take long to scan the newspaper or websites to see if there are any openings that interest you. You never know when you'll find the perfect fit for you.
You don't need to drive all the way to the gym for an extreme workout. Just do some pushups before you go to bed and some crunches right after you wake up. If you have a staircase, walk up and down them a few times. If you have a pool, invite your friends over for a swim. Exercise as much as you can, because you'll never feel more accomplished than when you're sore from working out.
7. Watch Tv
Accomplishments don't always have to be big, important things. If your DVR is filled with episodes of a show you've been meaning to catch up on, it's time to binge watch. Once you're done, you'll finally be able to discuss the finale with your friends. It's not the best way to spend your day, but it's an accomplishment nevertheless.
Your days will be more exciting when you spend them doing things you're proud of doing. What's the most impressive thing you've ever accomplished?
