There are lots of ways hard times give you confidence.
I’ve learned the hard times give you confidence in yourself because you think and tell yourself if you made it through that mess back there than how much worse can the other messes be? We get a confidence booster from surviving. You look at life through a much brighter lens with the knowledge that at the end of the dark tunnel there is light. It may start out as a vague glimmer of hope but as you creep along in the darkness you see the light becoming closer and closer. On the way, you don’t know what you will run into and you can barely see what’s in front of you. All you have is yourself and the courage to move forward, closer to the light at the end of the tunnel.
You move forward because you trust yourself. Your trust that you will reach the end of the tunnel and know that you have done so in the past. It was you who made it through all those tunnels in the past. They may not have all even been your tunnels, but nonetheless, they brought you here, didn’t they? They brought you to the understanding that with perseverance comes confidence. Every tunnel is a challenge. The challenge is what you seek. And if you survive then you receive a new sense of appreciation for being you. Which in turn, leads to confidence in yourself and the trusting that life demands from you.
I’ve learned through surviving the hard times that I have gained the confidence to face anything that comes my way. I’ve learned that it was me who endured and who is trusted to endure in the future. I’ve learned that to survive is to live. Life prompts us to constantly trusts in ourselves. I’ve learned life will give you the necessary circumstances to build that confidence in yourself. Will you keep the confidence that the hard times gave you to pull through, or will you fold under pressure?
