1. Manage Time
When you realize you have nine assignments you need to complete by the end of the week, your stress levels will be off the charts. If your schedule is super hectic, you should even write down when you're going to shower and do laundry. That way you won't leave anything out.
2. Don't Take on Too Much
If you know you have a lot to do, don't make promises you can't keep. Don't tell your friends that you'll hang out with them Friday night and don't tell your professor you'll do the extra credit they assigned. You shouldn't put more on your plate than you can handle. You're not a superhero, so you can't expect to do it all.
3. Get Enough Sleep
Once you figure out how to productively manage your time, you shouldn't have trouble finding enough hours in your day to sleep. That means you shouldn't pull an all-nighter in order to cram for an exam. It's better to sleep through the night and wake up refreshed for the test.
4. Get Enough Nutrition
It's almost impossible to eat healthy when you're a student, because you need food that's cheap and fast. However, you have to figure out a way to get all of the nutrition you need. Cozy up to your friend who's a chef or cut out McDonalds from your diet.
5. Find Relaxing Hobbies
You might not have your Xbox on campus, which means you need to find other, simpler ways to relax. Take a walk around campus or start a scrapbook. Find a fun website to play around on or Skype your friends from back home. Do whatever you can to keep yourself calm.
6. Talk about It
If you need to release your stress, find a friend who's going through something similar. Ranting to them about your classes and professors can really make you feel better. Plus, they'll probably have some equally horrifying stories to tell you that will make you realize that you're not alone.
7. See a School Psychiatrist
The best part about going to school is that you occasionally get some things for free. Your campus should have a psychiatrist that you can talk to for no charge. If nothing else will help your stress levels lower, then they might be able to help you. It's worth a shot.
