There are lots of things you learn as you grow. Growing up doesn’t stop when you graduate high school or get your GED or drop out or even get a full-time job.
As humans we are constantly growing up, getting older, and learning new things.
So, you might learn something new today or you might just find words that you needed to hear again.
Ready? Let’s find out about some things you learn as you grow.
People don’t have to be physically close to you in order to care about you. Sometimes as humans, we have a misconception that approximately equals love. That’s just not true. Yes, if someone cares about you they will make time for you. There are people online who have friends they feel close to but have never met.
So, no. You don’t have to be physically close to someone to care about them.
Therefore the opposite should also be true. Those closest to you might not have your best interests at heart. Sometimes people just want a warm body. Sometimes people just want a sounding board. That doesn’t mean that everyone is like that but you shouldn’t assume that just because someone is always around, they care about you. One of the worst things you can do to yourself is hype up something that’s not there.
I live in my dreams. I'm not saying that’s a bad thing. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t be optimistic. But there’s a difference between feeling good and important around someone and feeling alone even though you are surrounded by people.
We often think that being alone is the worst thing. When the worst thing is actually wasting your life being scared to move on.
Being alone is different than feeling alone. That’s one of the biggest lessons we can learn. By being alone we can grow while feeling alone makes us crumble. You don’t have to be alone to feel alone.
And surprisingly that distinction can make all the difference.
