If you want to be happy and productive, then there are certain things to write down every day. They won't take out big chunks of your time, because they're simple to jot down, or can be typed right into your phone. Here are some of the important things to write down every day to increase your productivity, happiness, and understanding of yourself:
1. Your Dreams
As soon as you wake up, write down any dreams that you remember from the night before. Whether they're happy or sad, find the strength to put them down on paper. By the end of the week, you might be able to find a common theme within your dreams. If they're always about relationships, love is on your mind. If they're about money, you're worried about your financial situation. Your dreams are one of the things to write down every day, because they could help you realize what your priorities are.
2. Your Food Intake
If you want to stay healthy, then you have to pay attention to what you eat. Write down all of the food that you consume, so that you can figure out what you're doing right, and what you're doing wrong. It's a simple way to start to change your diet, and engage in a healthier lifestyle.
3. Your Stories
Has a friend ever told you that they have an important story for you, but then they forgot it by the time you two have a chance to chat? To stop that from happening, write down the stories that you plan on telling in the future. That way, the details won't get messed up, and you won't have your friends annoyed with you.
4. Your Achievements
Write down everything you've done during the day that you're proud of accomplishing. They don't have to be big achievements, like getting a promotion. They can be as simple as making someone else smile during a bad day. Whatever you've done that made you happy, write it down. In the future, you can look at it, and remember all of the greatness you've achieved.
5. Your to-do List
Even if you think that you're going to remember your chores later, write them down. You don't want to risk forgetting about something important. If you don't think you'll remember to look back at the list, set an alarm on your phone to remind you to do the task.
6. Your Secrets
It's hard to keep a secret, because it can weigh you down, and make you feel alone. In order to get rid of that feeling, write down your secrets and put them in a safe place. You could even rip up the paper once you're finished. The point is to get your emotions out. It'll help, even though you're talking to a piece of paper instead of another person.
7. Your Little Observations
If you visit a location you've never been to before, write down the directions for future use. If you eat something delicious at a restaurant, write down the name so you don't forget it, or so you can look up the recipe for it later. When you hear a song on the radio you love, write down the title or some of the lyrics so you can add it to your iPod once you get home.
