1. Get an Early Start Every Morning
Setting your alarm a couple of hours before you have to leave for work rather than a hectic 45 minutes gives your mind and body a chance to settle in to wakefulness before you have to fully take on the day. These early hours will also likely be your most peaceful.
2. Strive to Have Better Nutrition
You would be surprised at how even the healthiest of eaters can always do something to improve their nutrition. The simple fact is that the healthier you are on the inside, the better you will feel on the outside.
3. Take up a Fun Sport
Taking part in a team sport is the easiest and most fun way to get exercise without it feeling like a chore. It also gets you out and engaging in a new social circle with the opportunity to make new connections and new friends.
4. Do a Full-on Spring Clean
The cleaner your personal space and living area is, the cleaner your mind is going to feel. Living in a mess only impact negatively on your daily routine, so have a huge spring clean and make your space and enjoyable one to be in.
5. Try to Fulfil All of Your Obligations
Nothing weighs on the mind like an obligation or responsibility that goes unfulfilled. Try your best to meet all of your targets and goals, both personally and professionally, and you will feel a definite boost of self-worth and self-confidence.
6. Balance out Your Social Life
Work to find a good balance between your social life and your work life, whether that means scaling it back and going out less, or making the effort to leave work at work and get yourself out there more. Both ends of the spectrum are equally detrimental.
7. Write out a Plan for Each Week
Every Sunday evening, sit down and write out a list of things that you are planning to achieve during the coming week. This will continue to give you a sense of purpose and keep you motivated to continue working hard.
8. Write a List of Your Implausible Dreams
Have a think about any dreams you have that may be implausible and write them down. Now that they are on the physical page, consider exactly what about them makes them implausible. What could you do to get on the path of achieving them?
9. Always Have a Plan in Mind
Whether it’s a full week plan or just a plan for the day ahead, it’s always healthy to have things in mind that you need to be doing. It gives you a wonderful sense of drive and purpose and stops you from feeling redundant. If you’ve reached the point of achieving a goal – make a new one to replace it.
10. Try to do Something Differently
If you feel like you are stuck in the same mundane routine, then do something to break out of that. This could be taking up a new hobby, making a spur of the moment decision to visit a friend, or something simple like treating yourself to a nice dinner out at a local restaurant.
11. Get out of Your Comfort Zone
Make plans to do things that are completely out of your comfort zone, no matter how big or small! From skydiving to being brave enough to go and work out at the gym rather than at home, anything that forces you to be that little bit braver is great.
12. Take a Break Once in a While
If you are one of those people who tends to work non-stop, then it can be really rewarding to dedicated one night each week to doing absolutely nothing. Just relax back on the couch and treat yourself to a few episodes of something on Netflix. It’s healthy to unwind!
