Because I think it’s essential for everyone to be familiar with different ways to inspire confidence, and because trust is such an important concept when it comes to family, friends or even coworkers and clients, I decided to write this article. Of course, trust is not something you can buy or borrow, it’s something you must work for, and pretty hard, I might add. You mustn’t worry because there are a lot of quite simple ways to inspire confidence and boost your credibility, in the next lines I will tell you a little bit about few of them which seem to require very little effort on your behalf.
1. Listen First!
One of the easiest ways to inspire confidence and boost your credibility is by always trying not to jump to conclusions too fast. First, try to listen what the other person has to say, analyze and try to understand their standpoint and afterwards, once you’ve processed rationally all the information you’ve received and after you’ve gathered all the facts, you can act. Just keep in mind that people like to be listened and understood and I’m sure you do too. So, try not to hurry next time you speak to someone!
I know that everyone will agree with me that it’s essential to have a healthy self-esteem and to trust your own abilities if you want other people to believe what you’re saying or even, to follow you. You can boost your self-confidence using different techniques that offer spectacular results in no time. You just need some practice and a little bit of patience and you’ll obtain everything you set your mind to. Yes, it really is that easy.
3. Be Polite!
First of all, trust is a mutual thing and without being polite and respectful, you won’t achieve it. There’s no trust without respect and that’s why, you’ll only win other people’s trust and sympathy once you’ll learn how to appreciate their interests, passions and most importantly, their opinion. Remember to always be polite and care for other people’s needs!
4. Follow through
The best way to inspire confidence, to boost your credibility and to win other people’s trust is by respecting your promises and by doing what you said you will do. Even it’s a small thing, make sure to always keep your promise! If you told someone you’ll get there in half an hour, then do it! If it happens to not be able to respect your promises make sure you have a very good reason for that and also, don’t forget to call and explain what happened!
5. Show Your Emotions
Sometimes, a good emotional intelligence can help you a lot, no matter what it is you’re doing. It’s always good to show your emotions (especially the positive ones) towards other people and they will do the same. Usually, people who are incapable of showing their emotions are considered to be cold, false, thus they don’t seem to be trustworthy and that’s why a lot of people tend to avoid them. I’m sure that by now you all know how important it is to learn to express your feelings and to always be in touch with your emotions.
6. Body Language
You should always pay attention to the way you use your body language, especially your posture, gestures and your tone of voice because quite often, what may seem as a positive statement, can in fact be a negative one. You all know the famous saying: if you can’t say something nice, then don’t say anything at all! This is also true when it comes to your body language so pay attention to what you’re telling other people without saying a single word!
7. Put Yourself in the Other Person’s Shoes
To better understand other people, try to put yourself first in their shoes and think about how you would react if you were them. By doing this, you will be able to better understand their reasons for saying a certain thing or for behaving in a certain way. You will also know what to do and how to act in order to inspire them confidence and win their trust.
So, there you go, this were my suggestions for different things to do in order to inspire confidence and for boosting your credibility. What other ways to inspire confidence do you know? Do you think that trust is such an important issue? I can’t wait to hear your opinion!
