5 Signs You Need to Chill ...

There are certainly some signs you need to chill. Let’s be real, life in 2018 is turning out to be more fast-paced and hectic than ever, and living in an overall environment like this can often lead to high levels of tension, worry, stress and anxiety in a person. For some reason, it is often the case that you can recognise signs of stress and overworking in the people around you, whilst simultaneously not being able to see it in yourself. When you are at breaking point in terms of your nerves and your motivation to keep going, then the only thing you can do is take a step back and remove yourself from the firing line. Here are some signs you need to chill.

1 Overwhelmed

Feeling overwhelmed is one of the biggest signs you need to chill. You often find yourself in a state where you feel overwhelmed by what is going on around you and what you need to do so you freeze and don’t even know where to start. This feeling of being frozen is essentially your body’s way of sending a distress signal to tell you that it is time to take a back seat for a while and really chill. You can’t force yourself to be active when your mind is asking you to take a break.

2 Full Calendar

If you can’t remember the last time you had a day where you were free to enjoy doing absolutely nothing, then you need to think about scheduling one of those very soon. Even if you are a workaholic that doesn’t like to feel like you aren’t being productive, it doesn’t take away from the fact that you need to chill once in a while. Don’t think of it as a doing nothing day, think of it as a self-care day!

3 Nervous in Advance

You find yourself freaking out and having nervous attacks about things that haven’t even happened yet, simply because the weight of your current schedule is starting to be too much to handle. If you are feeling stress about things that haven’t even happened yet, then it is a tell-tale sign that you haven’t given yourself time to recover and recharge from your last busy period.

4 Bad at Chilling

The people who are ‘bad’ at chilling out are often the ones who need it most. If you have been overworking yourself then it is likely that you will feel uncomfortable when you finally get the chance to sit down and relax, because it has become a feeling that is foreign and unproductive to you. You need to get back in touch with the art of relaxation and change your mindset from it being a waste of time to an important time that allows you to prepare for the next big thing in a less stressful and hectic way.

5 FOMO

FOMO is the fear of missing out, and it can be a huge cause in people spreading themselves too thin because they don’t want to be left out of any potentially exciting or important plans. You can only do so much with your one body, so don’t over commit and end up with exhaustion from a bunch of parties and get-togethers that didn’t live up to your expectations anyway.
