7 Reasons You Need to Take Leap of Faith to Be Happier ...

Usually we try to follow a set path, but there are quite a few reasons to take a leap of faith now and again. It may seem scary at first, but this leap can and will change your life and make you happier. Quickly, the fear turns to exhilaration as you discover the benefits behind taking a chance. It's okay to vary from your path sometimes and these reasons to take a leap of faith will show you why.

1. Go beyond What You Know

You went to school and got the job you were aiming for. Now what? There's so much more in the world to experience. Volunteer, travel, learn a new hobby or even intern for a new job. Sometimes doing exactly what we plan gets extremely boring after a while. One of my favorite reasons to take a leap of faith is to mix things up. You don't have to go extreme, but it is fun to take some chances to improve your life.

2. Leave a Bad Situation

Sometimes we feel stuck in a bad situation such as a job or relationship. We don't have a plan, so we stay where we are. You deserve to be happy. Let go of the fear and take a leap of faith. Cut ties with the situation and do something different. You can change the situation if you're willing to take a chance on something better.

3. Discover What You're Capable of

It's easy to feel comfortable where you're currently at. But are you truly happy? Have you ever spread your wings and seen what you're capable of? Take a leap and push yourself. Go after your dream job, learn new skills or strike out on your own. It'll be terrifying at first, but in the end, you'll discover a new you. You'll realize you're not nearly as limited as you once believed.

4. Overcome Fears

When I first started writing, I had a 9 to 5 full time job. I was afraid to jump into writing full time because it didn't offer the same financial stability. With my full time job, I couldn't devote the time I needed to make a writing career a reality. Though I was scared, I took a leap and left my job. I discovered I could do and I watched my fear fade away. Take on your fears and know you can do it.

5. Become a Better You

If you never take the leaps necessary to change, how will you become a better person? Whether it's going back to school to get a better job or letting go of bad habits to draw better people to you, it's vital to take the occasional leap of faith to better yourself. If you do this, you'll be able to stop dwelling on your faults and instead, enjoy a better, happier you. You don't have to let your current situation or habits define you. Instead, be brave and take a journey to redefine yourself.

6. Meet New People

While we all have our close friends, taking a leap faith often leads to brand new relationships. Maybe you want to start your own business. You take a chance and suddenly, you're interacting with customers and employees. Starting a new job leads to a new set of coworkers. It's healthy to bring new people into our lives. It gives us new perspectives and ideas. Plus, it helps us be happier.

7. Become More Adaptable

I used to have a hard time dealing with change. When situations started to change, I was a stressed out mess. When I finally let go once and took the leap to just go with the flow, the stress melted away and I actually enjoyed not only the process of change, but the result. Now, I've become far more adaptable to new situations. Even a single leap helps make you more adaptable and less stressed, leading to a far happier you.

Life isn't about being comfortable, it's about taking a journey through many situations and changes. It's about experiencing all that makes you happy. The best way to do this is by taking leaps of faith. What leaps of faith have you taken lately and how did they change your life?
