1 You’re Alive
This is perhaps one of the most important reasons to smile more. I mean, you woke up this morning and that’s something to be thankful for. There are so many people who lose their lives every second, minute, hour and day. So show appreciation, and just remember that fact, and I’m sure a smile will appear in no time.
2 You’re Beautiful
I know this sounds cliché, but it’s true. You are beautiful, and you should know, and embrace it. Even if you feel like you’re hideous, you’re not. Someone loves the way you look, whether that is your sister, mother, father, or your future handsome beau. So smile, you beautiful woman, you!
3 Your Pets
If you feel down, and like nothing can cheer you up, looking at pictures of cute animals or hanging out with your own should do the trick! I know when I’m not feeling my best, I always look at funny/cute pictures of kittens or puppies, and that instantly brings a smile to my face. You should try this out, because animals are always a good reason to be happy and they want to be around people with good energy.
No one wants to see someone who is constantly frowning or furrowing their eyebrows everywhere they go. When you smile, you look vibrant, sociable and confident. And people notice that, and are more likely to find you attractive and personable. Definitely one of the reasons I like to smile!
There have been many studies that show smiling — even in the roughest times — can do wonders. The act of smiling sends messages to your brain that you are in high spirits, and that prompts those endorphins to kick in, giving you a boost of happiness. I don’t know what’s a better reason to smile than knowing it's an easy mood-lifter!
6 Helping Others
Did you know that smiling is contagious? Well, now that you do, get to it! I know when I see people smiling, laughing and having a good time, it puts me in a better mood too. When you see someone smile, your muscles want to mimic the same action. So if you want to exude positive energy, smile more. It’ll give you a reason to be positive and help others smile at the same time!
This one should come as a no-brainer. Since smiling sends endorphins to your body to make you feel good, it also helps you stress less. Smiling can help reduce symptoms associated with anxiety because your body isn’t subjected to the negativity a frown can emit. So smile more and stress less, ladies!
