If you feel like you're hanging onto the past and you just can't let go and start living then there are some reasons why it might time to start letting go of these things that are holding you back in life. We accumulate so much baggage as we travel along this road called life but sometimes, this baggage can weigh us down and prevent us from travelling forward. Here are some reasons to just let go and start living.
1. Feeling Free
One of the reasons to let go and start living is that you will feel liberated as a consequence. There may be many reasons why you might feel that you're stuck and that you just can't move forward. Maybe you're living in the shadow of a former relationship and you just can't move on. It's easy to say just let go but try to think of the past as a lesson we can learn from. This can be helpful when working towards letting go of what has been.
2. Finding Your Passion
Through letting go of the past you will be able to truly follow your dreams. If you're paralysed by the fear caused by past events then you will be unable to find you passion and move forward. Equally, if you're playing the blame game about things that have happened you will also feel immobilized and unable to progress. Let go of the past to find your passion in life.
3. No Limitations
The only limits are the ones we place upon ourselves. There are no limits. Nothing is impossible. If the brain can conceive it, you can achieve it. I know it sounds a little new age and far fetched but I believe it's true. The only way you can achieve your dreams though is by letting go of what has been.
4. Life is Short
We don't know when our time is up but the fact is, we're not going to be here forever. Without sounding too morbid our time could end tomorrow. It could be next week or it could be next year. We just don't know. It's a sobering thought but one that can also ensure you act and work towards letting go and starting to live.
5. You're Only Here Once
Life isn't a dress rehearsal and we don't get to come back and do it again with the opportunity to get it right. Treat every day as though it were your last and make sure that you live the life you want to life. Don't worry about what others think but don't dismiss words of advice you're given. Sing your own tune and dance your own dance.
6. What's the Worst That Could Happen?
When you're worried about the future you should ask yourself this one question. What's the worst that could happen? You might get rejected. This is quite possible. You might get laughed at. Again, this is something that may happen. But honestly, who cares? Everything we do is a moment in time. We do ourselves a disservice sometimes by living that moment over and over again in our heads. Do it. Enjoy it. Forget it and relish the next moment.
7. Feel the Fear
Ever heard the phrase "feel the fear and do it anyway"? It's actually the title of a great book by Susan Jeffers. In this best selling book she describes the way in which we can use the fear we feel in our lives to our advantage. Fear isn't a bad thing. If we're scared of something that's great. Just feel the fear and do it anyway!
