7 Quotes from Winnie the Pooh That Resonate Whatever Your Age ...

It’s easy to overlook children’s books and stories thinking that they don’t have much value as an adult but that’s so not true, as I will demonstrate with quotes from Winnie the Pooh. Books written for children are full of meaning and lessons to be learned and if a lesson is taught well, the age of the student doesn’t matter. Plus, when it comes to children’s books, by their very nature, words need to be simplistic for the message to be heard and understood. These quotes from Winnie the Pooh are simple but profound too.

1 Self-Esteem

If ever you are at a low ebb, doubting yourself, or lacking confidence, you can turn to quotes from Winnie the Pooh. This one is sublime in its simplicity but how much more of a self-affirmation do you need? We all suffer self-doubt at times and having a reminder that we are so much better than we think can provide an instant fillip.

2 Consideration

I think that many people today think compassion and concern for others is a luxury they can’t afford. Really – most of the time, either of those costs nothing, yet a little can go such a long way.

3 Love

There are so many quotes from Winnie the Pooh that make statements about the importance of love in our lives. This one is so true and I’d like to say it goes even further than that profound statement. Have you ever tried to describe love? How do you define it? As love means something different to everyone, is there a definition we can all understand?

4 Differences

I love this! So many people feel under pressure to change, to conform and to go against their natural instincts. That’s understandable; it seems easier to fit in with the crowd than stand out and have to “explain” yourself. But why? You are unique, you are you and you should embrace your differences.

5 Friends

Throughout life, friends come and go. Some of us are lucky to make a friend as youngsters and stay friends with them for the rest of our lives. Friends like that are friends indeed and should be cherished. They enrich our lives and we should be proud to have them and grateful for what they bring to us.

6 Friends Again

Not all of our friends will be lifelong. Sometimes we have friends that flit into our lives for a brief period and then flit out again. Don’t look at these friends as fleeting moments but treasure the adventure they bring to your life. Every friend will have an impact on you in some way – some good, some not so desirable. Take each experience and learn from it and grow from it. Every friendship contributes to what makes you, you. I know that’s a bit deep from one of the simplest quotes from Winnie the Pooh, but that’s how I like to interpret it.

7 Organization

How wearing is it that things don’t go your way because you are disorganized? Are people always complaining about how disorderly or unorganized you are? It takes effort to be organized when it doesn’t come naturally. Now, I’m not saying that you shouldn’t make an effort to change your habits and become more orderly and organized, but you know when you’re having one of those days when the effort just seems too hard, just think on what Pooh said. It will bring some pleasure into what is generally seen as a fault or negative characteristic. Some days it’s just good to accept our faults and see joy in them.

Who’d have thought that a rotund little bear with a love for hunny could be so wise? There are some of my Winnie the Pooh quotes but there are so many more. Do you have a favorite?
