It's time to stop existing, and start actually living. When you're older, you don't want to look back at your younger days with regrets. You want to have amazing stories that you'll be proud to tell your grandchildren. Of course, in order for that to happen, you need to take chances. Here are a few ways for you to really feel alive:
What's your biggest fear in life? If you're terrified of heights, it's time to take a plane ride, go skydiving, or at least climb a tall ladder. If you're scared of dogs, then go to the pound and find a puppy to pet. Facing your fears is one of the best ways to feel alive, because it'll keep your body on high alert, and when you end up surviving the encounter, you'll be incredibly thankful to be alive.
Don't stop yourself from complimenting a friend or hitting on your crush. Instead of bottling up your emotions, try releasing them. Everyone will find your bluntness refreshing. Plus, when you're honest about your feelings, it encourages everyone around you to be honest as well. You could end up with a new friend or boyfriend in no time.
If you can afford to take a trip, go for it. If your wallet is light, then you can at least take a walk around your block in order to get out of the house. When you're stuck in one place all day, you can't feel alive. You need to go out and breathe in the fresh air.
The next time you attend a concert, don't view your favorite singers through a lens. Looking at the world through your own eyes, instead of through a camera, can alter your entire experience. The same goes for cell phones and computers. Even though they're pretty much essential to surviving in the modern world, try to use them less and less. That way, you'll feel more alert and alive.
If you love to draw, grab a pencil. If you love to sing, make a cover of your favorite song. Releasing your creative energy can make you feel like you're contributing something to the world, which will make you feel more alive than you ever have before. So don't be shy and create something you'll be proud of.
What have you always dreamt of learning? Shell out some money for guitar lessons or to learn how to swim. As long as you pick a topic that you know you'll enjoy, you can't go wrong.
All in all, you need to start taking chances in life if you want to be happy. Approach the cute guy you caught staring at the mall. Have date night at a new restaurant instead of the one you go to every other weekend. Try new things whenever you can, because the unlimited possibilities you have are what makes life so exciting.
There's no reason to be bored with life when there are so many exciting opportunities out there. So stop playing it safe and go have fun! You deserve it, after all. What's the most thrilling thing you've done in the past that really made you feel alive?
