If You Don't do These 7 Things You'll Regret It ...

By Holly8 Comments

You want to live a life you're proud of. You don't want to wake up one day and realize that you missed out on opportunities that you should've grabbed. Regrets can ruin your whole perception of yourself, which is why you should do these things now, so you don't end up regretting your decisions in the future:

1 Follow Your Dreams

Jim Carrey once gave a speech about how his father chose a safe job instead of following his dreams. However, his father ended up losing everything by following plan B, which prompted Carrey to say, "You can fail at something you don’t want, so you might as well take a chance doing what you love." If you follow your dreams, at least you won't regret your decision in the future, no matter how your life turns out.

Frequently asked questions

2 Go for the Guy

People always say that you'll regret the chances you don't take. What's the worst thing that can happen if you ask out your crush? Sure, he could turn you down, but at least you'll know where you stand with him. It's better to know if he likes you so you can move on, instead of wasting years by wondering how he feels.

3 Say Yes to Invitations out

Don't turn down every party invitation you receive. Even if you're not a people person, you deserve to make memories. You'll either end up having more fun than you thought you would, or you'll have an awkward story to tell to your other friends. Either way, you'll gain something from going out.

4 Exercise

It's not much fun to mindlessly run on a treadmill for an hour a day, but in the future, you'll be happy you kept your body moving. If you don't, then you're going to regret it. Not only will you have more health problems than you would've if you kept active, but you'll also have trouble walking around. If you didn't move much when you were younger, it'll be even harder for you to move around as an old lady.

5 Save up Your Money

As tempting as a new Michael Kors bag is, you should save some of your paycheck for the future instead of spending it all on the latest fashions. It's healthy to treat yourself, so long as you don't go overboard and end up going broke. Your future self deserves some money for an apartment and car.

6 Forgive Others

Some people don't deserve your forgiveness. However, if you're angry at your friend or sibling for something small, it's time to let go of your grudge. If you don't, you could end up losing them over something silly. You'll regret it in the future, so swallow your pride and forgive them for what they've done.

7 Go on Vacation

Even though you should save up a good chunk of your money, you shouldn't be terrified of spending it. Just use it on fun things, like vacations or concerts. That way, you won't just be buying a gift for yourself--you'll be buying a memory. When you're old and grey, your memories will be more important than the money in the bank, so it's okay to splurge once in a while.

You don't want to wake up one day and realize that you regret most of the moves you've made in your life. What are you going to start doing to make your future self proud of the life you're living?
