There are times in our lives that are exciting and thrilling, and times that are well…kind of boring. These moments can make you feel unfulfilled or empty, but no need to stress. You can take action and fill these moments with joy and meaning. The steps are actually really simple, too.

1. Helping Others

This might be the most obvious tip, but that’s because it really works. I know that whenever I spend my time helping another person, it puts a smile on my face. Whether you volunteer at a pet shelter or cook a meal for a friend, doing something for someone else is a great use of time.

2. Finding the Good

Some days, it is hard to find something exciting to be thankful for. But I always try to find something to celebrate in a day and write it down. If you write down one good thing that happened a day, your outlook will improve. It can be as simple as being thankful to breathe! Make it a habit and see where it takes you.

3. Exercising

Doing the same thing every day can get really boring really fast. That’s why it’s good to break up the routine and get active. Whether I decide to do a yoga class or just take my dog on a walk, exercise always makes me feel better and more fulfilled. It’s also good for you, so it’s a win-win.

4. Understand Your Feelings

Sometimes we can avoid how we feel because we don’t want to deal with it. Trust me, I’ve done it. While this may seem easier, in the long run, it can weigh you down! That’s why I like to really dig down into myself and evaluate where I stand and the reasons why I feel the way I do. Being in touch with oneself is a great feeling.

5. Unplugging

I don’t know about you, but I spend a lot of my free time on my computer or phone, browsing the web and social media. I find that if I take some time to get away from the digital, I am a lot happier. Taking the time to relax away from the screen can help you have more time for other things and feel more fulfilled in the long run.

6. Being with Friends

While alone time can be great, being in the company of friends and family can make a positive difference in how you feel. Spending time with loved ones whether it’s talking or going on an adventure can fill your life with so much joy.

7. Learning New Things

Life wasn’t meant to be boring! There is an endless amount of things to learn. Taking an art class may be your forte, or maybe you decide to take up dance. Whatever it is, putting yourself out there and exercising your creativity will fill your life with variety!
