At times life can get overwhelming and it can be hard to find healthy ways to cope with everything that’s going on. That's when you need coping mechanisms for when you're overwhelmed. Sometimes we tend to shut down and procrastinate on anything that we’re currently doing because we feel that what’s going on around us is controlling our lives. Recently I have been feeling quite overwhelmed with 5 different things that are happening all at once. So here are some coping mechanisms for when you're overwhelmed.

1. Take It One Day at a Time

It’s important to remember that we don’t have to take in all of the information in one sitting. It’s best to split up the workloads and take it one step at a time. Do a little bit of what you have to do each day. Only focus on the present and what you’re going to do now. Don’t stress yourself out by jumping ahead to an unseen future. Stressing about the future won’t make the present any. If not you will be miserable. Taking it one day at a time is the single best of the coping mechanisms for when you're overwhelmed.
