1

Write Everything down

In my opinion, this is definitely the most common of the habits of organized people. Just get used to writing everything down, so you won’t have to spend time remembering all kinds of things that are really not so important after all. For example, make a list of everything you have to buy from your local grocery store, write down all your appointments or even people’s birthdays. This way, you won’t have to worry that you will forget anything and you will be more organized.

2

Find a Place for Everything

Every little thing should have its own place. Don’t just toss things around or put them in drawers! Things won’t get lost if you give them a home. Just keep your things in proper places, so you’ll know where to find a specific item if you need it, without spending so much time looking for it. Store things properly, label storage spaces and remove clutter from your life!

3

Avoid Procrastination

Try to avoid procrastination, because the longer you wait to do something, the harder it will be to get it done. Take care of all your tasks and responsibilities and get things done as soon as possible. When you have something to do, just schedule the time to do it and don’t postpone that task anymore. This way, you’ll avoid feeling stressed and overwhelmed if you won’t have enough time to do it properly.

4

Set Priorities

Highly organized people always set priorities, so they always know what things they should do first. You could also learn how to prioritize, so you’ll get rid of all the clutter from your life. This way, you’ll be able to see things more clearly. You’ll avoid rushing around and not being focused on the things you do, and you won’t feel exhausted or drained anymore.

5

Create Schedules and Deadlines

Organized people always create schedules and deadlines, so they can manage their time more efficiently. Learn to prioritize your tasks, set deadlines for completing them and celebrate every small success. This way, you will stay focused on the things you need to accomplish and you’ll avoid procrastination. Just think of all the things you have to do, all the things you need to take care of and make a plan to achieve all your goals, so you’ll be able to enjoy the results as soon as possible.

De-clutter Regularly

Make a habit out of getting rid all the clutter from your house and from your life. Just throw away all the things you don’t need, don’t use or don’t like anymore. If they are in perfect condition, you could try donating them to a charity, so other people could enjoy them. Keep only what you need and what you really want. Don’t buy things you know you won’t use, because you’ll only waste your money and you won’t even be happy you got them. Simplify your life and de-clutter regularly!

7

Clean as You Go!

If you want to be more organized, then you must definitely need to learn how to clean as you go. You’ll be more efficient doing this and you won’t spend so much time afterwards doing the stuff you could have done earlier if you would have tried a little bit harder. Whenever a mess is made, just clean it up immediately. By being more organized when you have some free time, you will not have to do all kinds of errands and take care all kinds of chores. You will be able to enjoy your free time and also, cleanup will be a breeze.

There are a lot of things you can do to be more organized. I just mentioned a few in this little article but I’m sure there are many more I haven’t talked about. So, can you give me a hand and tell me what other habits of highly organized people do you know? Please tell us about them in the comments section!
