Looking for the best ASMRtists to follow on YouTube? I would assume that if you clicked on this article, you probably already know what ASMR is and just want some video recommendations, which we’ll definitely get to in a second. But for those of you who are still curious, ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) is basically that tingly sensation some of us feel on the back of our heads or neck whenever someone whispers in our ear or hear any other type of soothing sound. It can even be triggered by visual media too!
ASMR definitely isn’t for everyone though, as not everyone experiences the sensation, and there are many misconceptions about it. But as someone who’s been watching videos for several years now and considers herself well versed on the subject, I’m here to recommend some of the best ASMRtists to follow on YouTube.
Taylor, AKA ASMR Darling, has one of the most successful ASMR channels on YouTube, having recently reached 1 million subscribers, making her one of the best ASMRtists to follow on YouTube. People have different triggers for their ASMR, and her channel caters to pretty much all of them. From gaming, to clothing hauls, and character role-play videos, ASMR Darling is the perfect channel for everyone still experimenting and figuring out their ASMR.
If you want ASMR done by real professionals, this is where you want to go. The team behind ASMR Massage Psychetruth is made up of licensed massage therapists, so besides ASMR, you’ll find real techniques for relaxation, tips to help you sleep, detailed explanations on how to give massages, etc. And if you’ve been in the ASMR community for a while and know one of your triggers is hair brushing, get excited because they have a whole playlist for that.
I only recently discovered this channel, but it’s quickly become one of my favorites. You will often find role-play videos in the ASMR community, in which the ASMRtists will pretend to be a specific character and build their triggers around that. Well, Erin has created an entire fictional world for her ASMR channel, in which she plays all the characters, from witches to mermaids, and innkeeper to owner of a magical creatures shop. Her acting skills are amazing and the production that goes into her videos is outstanding, so even if you’re not into ASMR, they really are worth watching just for the stories.
Through this channel you’ll get to experience ASMR through a variety of microphones such as the 3Dio, Tascam, Rode mics, among others. Her videos also tend to be on the longer side, so they’re perfect for when you’re trying to fall asleep!
Maria has probably one of the most soothing voices in the ASMR community. No matter what objects she’s playing with or what the theme of her video is, her whispers will be enough to drive you to complete relaxation, hence the name of her channel! She also puts out different types of videos with a wide variety of triggers (including cooking) and seems to excel at every one of them.
