9 Amazing Ways to Be Happier Right Now ...

There are tons of ways to be happier when you’re feeling down. Everyone has down days, but there seems to be a correlation with the weather getting colder and down days. Instead of sulking and being down on yourself, follow a few of these simple ways to be happier and get out of your rut!

1. Make a List

Even if things seem bleak, write down what you’re happy for. Sometimes you just need to see all of the blessings in your life on paper to really understand how blessed you are. It’s easy to get a little happier if you have a list of what you’re thankful for in front of you! It’s not often considered one of the ways to be happier, but making a list will help immensely.

Even if you’re not happy, smile. The act of smiling alone will make you feel a little happier. Remember the old saying, fake it until you make it? It sounds trivial, but try it out and I promise you’ll feel better!

Find something that makes you happy and make time for it every week. If you find happiness in reading a book, do that. If you find happiness at concerts, go to concerts whenever you can. When it comes to your mental well being, it’s okay to be selfish sometimes. Don’t be afraid to help your mental health because it can be misconstrued as selfish. Sometimes you have to help yourself in order to be happier.

There’s something about human nature that has a need for a routine. Try it, your mind and body will thank you for it!

It’s a simple idea but it’s often ignored. Simply surrounding yourself with happiness will lead to your own happiness. Eliminate the toxic people from your life, find positive people that you want in your life, and you’ll be so much happier so much faster! It’s one of the essentials to being truly happy.

When you’re really sad and truly want to find happiness, turning the world off is an easy step to achieving just what you want. You could spend your money on possessions. Or, you could spend your money on something you’ve always wanted to do. Is there a concert you’ve always wanted to go to? Buy that instead of a new sweater. I guarantee you’ll remember the experience you’ve been dreaming about for your entire life much more than a new sweater you’ll wear twice. You’ll always have the wonderful memories to look back on.
