Want to know why hate isn't necessary? Why do people feel the need to hate on what other people enjoy? As you can tell, I am using the word in its urban definition and less in the traditional way.
I understand. Your opinion matters. But do you have to go out of your way to bash something publicly or create an account founded on hating it?
My blog got a comment like that early on. You can post about what you believe just like I can post about what I believe. But, don’t search out people talking about something you dislike just to tell them that you dislike it.
What’s the point of that?
It’s like people who hate on certain celebrities or artists. Don’t listen to them. Don’t pay attention to them. You don’t have to send them hate mail or create an anti account because, as a writer, I know how hard it is to forget about negative feedback.
I have been lucky enough to receive good feedback on here so far, but I’m sure others aren’t as lucky. On Tumblr, there are so many opinions circling around that it leads to some sort of conflict eventually. And don’t get me started on Twitter. It is covered in people hating on others.
What I mean to say is, think before you hate. You say or post a comment and maybe you forget you even did it. But whoever it’s directed to won’t be able to just brush it off.
And if the excuse is that they are celebrities and they won’t see it? Do you realize that tons of other people probably think the same thing? That means tons of people, every day, are sending negative feedback to them and they just have to take it.
It takes way more positive to erase negative than negative to erase positive. And that’s just another sad fact of life.
If you feel strongly about something, blog about it. Start a club. People that feel the same way will find you.
So the answer to the question why hate isn't necessary is no. Hate is not necessary.
