Get a Better Work/life Balance

Our society has become way too work crazy. A strong work ethic is important, but if you’re walking out of the movie theatre to check your phone to see if work called or you are the employer and calling people during their time off and it’s not because someone didn’t show up to work, then you’ve got a problem. Don’t use your job to avoid any marital or family problems at home. Burying yourself in work is not considered good communication skills nor good therapy. Taking a step back is one of the best ways to make 2022 better than 2023.

Join a Martial Arts Studio if You Haven’t Already

We don’t live in a perfect world, and it’s better to be prepared if anything happens. Let go of the myth that taekwondo or karate don't actually teach self-defense. Yes, they absolutely do. People are also extremely friendly at taekwondo and karate studios, so you’ll likely form new friendships. If you have children, many martial arts places have family time, back to back classes of children and then adults, or teach adults and children in separate rooms at the same time.

Take Time for You

This is especially true if you have a child or children. Maybe you’ll want to do those taekwondo classes on your own twice a week and find a babysitter to watch your children those nights. Maybe you hire a babysitter so you can have drinks with a friend or a date night with your significant other. Whatever it is, spending time on yourself should definitely be a priority in 2018.

Try Methods of Relaxation and Stick with Them

Give yourself twenty minutes a day to do activities such as mindfulness, listening to hypnosis, yoga, a combination of these or anything else that relaxes you.

Seek Help if You Have an Addiction Problem

Regardless of what the addiction is, stick to attending your doctor appointments and classes. Your 2018 will be so much better if you are clear minded and able to form healthy relationships.
